Fruit Flies
Do you have an issue where fruit flies keep appearing? The issue may be your drain. Use plastic wrapping on your drain for just a few days. If you see some fruit flies, boil some water and pour it down the drain or use a drain cleaner. This will help keep the flies from breeding in there.
Always start at the beginning. If you have trouble with pests, figure out what they're eating. Pests probably like to come into your home because they have shelter, food and plenty of water. Fix any leaks, seal any cracks, and remove scraps of food that pests may eat.
Before purchasing a home, make sure you have it professionally inspected for pests. Although some infestation signs can be recognized easily, understand that you cannot know for sure just what pest is inside your home until you've remained in it several days.
Prevent bugs from coming into your house by using a perimeter spray designed for outdoors. In addition to the foundation, you should spray porches, patios, steps and around windows and doors. Keep your eyes open for cracks around the exterior of the home. Seal such spots with caulking or other material.
Make sure that your screens are fully functional at all times. Not only do screens on windows and doors keep out flying pests, they also do a good job of keeping out crawling bugs as well. If there are holes in the screens, be sure to repair them to keep bugs from getting inside.
Use an outdoor perimeter spray to keep insects from entering your home. Cover your home's foundation, porch, steps and spaces near windows and doors. Always spray the pesticides in the cracks that you see. Use caulk or some other filling product to seal these areas.
Do you have a lot of ants around? Get rid of them by using a mixture of sugar and borax. The ants will be attracted to the sweet scent from the sugar, and they will be killed by the borax. Just make a half-and-half mixture of sugar and borax in a one-quart jar. Sprinkle the mixture along the foundation and baseboards of the home.
Thoroughly rinse all items you intend to recycle. It is very important to get rid of the soda in the cans. The soda needs to be rinsed clean before anything is put inside the garage.
If you struggle with pests, then your solution could be easier than you realize. Visit a home improvement outlet and seek advice from professionals. They know what kinds of pesticides will work on the specific pests that are plaguing your home.
If you have been the victim of a recent bedbug infestation and have taken steps to eradicate them, be vigilant. Bedbugs can lay in wait for an entire year without eating. Because of this, you should seal off any and all access points in your home. It will make it impossible for them to hide there.
Is your home being invaded by mice or rats? You must inspect your home for tiny cracks that animals can squeeze through. Put scouring pads inside the holes, or add some poison. Mustard oil may work as well.
Mice have been know to infest campers, RVs and cars that are being stored for the winter. Many natural repellents work to keep pests away. When you get small bags filled with the repellents, they are pleasant smelling and will not poison. They are going to just stop mice from getting into your camper or RV.
If you want to eliminate pests from your home and prevent them from returning, you need to do your research. Use the Internet to find out what the pest eats, where they like to live, how long their life cycle is and anything else you can learn. If you understand your pests, you stand a better chance of eliminating them.
Those who are contending with flying bugs must make repairs to all window screens. Screens on your doors and windows can not only prevent flying insects from coming in your home, they can also help prevent other crawling insects from coming in, too. If there are holes in your home's screens, repair or replace them.
